Isis
|
Isis (sometimes known as Aset or Eset) was the wife of Osiris and the mother of Horus. She was the queen of the gods. Isis was worshipped as the protector of children. She was brave, cunning and wiser than millions of men. She was a symbol of eternal love and represented fertility. She was the mother goddess and her shrines in her temples were often tended by women. She was the one who found all the pieces of Osiris when his evil brother Seth had chopped his body into fourteen pieces. Isis pieced them back together and wrapped him up to be the first ever person to be mummified. |
