Re (Ra) was the sun god, he brought life. Ra had a falcon's head crowned with the sun disc. He held an ankh and sceptre. A myth tells us that when Re was getting old people stopped worshipping him. He got very angry and made Sekhmet who ate all the bad people. When Sekhmet had eaten all the naughty people she was hungry for more blood so he started to eat the good people. Re saved the people by tricking Sekhmet and changed her into Hathor the goddess of love. People learnt never to offend Re again.
