Thoth

Thoth (Djhowtey) was the god of writing and wisdom. He was the patron of scribes. He was thought to have taught man language, writing, art, music and mathematics. He had the head of an ibis and wore a moon disk on his head. His main temple was at Heliopolis. He often turned himself into a baboon or an ibis. He carried an ankh which is a symbol of life. He recorded the result of the weighing of the heart ceremony.
