ZEUS Zeus (Roman name, Jupiter) was the ruler of the gods. He was the father of the Olympian gods. He carried a thunderbolt and sceptre and often had an eagle with him. He was married to Hera. He could disguise himself in many forms and had a fearsome personality. He controlled the heavens from his palace on Mount Olympus. The Olympic Games were held in his honour. |
