Heracles Halts Horrific

Hound of Hades!

Yesterday Heracles completed his 12th and final labour. He had to bring Cerberus, the three-headed watch-dog of Hades, back to Tiryns.........alive! This he did though perhaps King Eurystheus wishes that he hadn’t!

Heracles was the first person to enter the underworld alive and here he saw his dead wife, Megara. "She forgave me for my terrible crime," Heracles told us. "I was sad to see her but now I feel free from guilt."

He was then taken across the River Styx by Charon the ferryman and on the other side he came face to face with the horrible hound himself growling fiercely by the gates of Hades. "I had to fight Cerberus but not kill him. I wrestled him to the ground and strangled his three necks. This subdued the monster enough to be dragged back to Tiryns," said our hero.

And bring Cerberus back he did! Cowardly Eurystheus was hiding in the giant wine jar again! Telling Heracles his labours were over, he begged him to return the hound to Hades. The hero willingly agreed.

So what now for our hero? We do not believe it will be an end to his adventures. Look out for more reports about his exploits!
