| Eurystheus "Boared"! | ||
| Yesterday
Heracles arrived back in Tiryns having successfully completed his fourth labour. However,
he was not alone! He had a "friend" with him and it almost frightened King
Eurystheus to death!
Heracles fourth task was to go to Mount Erymanthus in southern Greece where there a huge wild boar roamed. Heracles said, "I couldnt kill the boar, I had to bring it back alive! So I chased it and chased it cutting myself to ribbons in the process on Mount Erymanthus sharp thorn bushes." All seemed lost for our hero when suddenly it began to snow. He followed the boars footprints until he caught up with it and drove it into a snowdrift. Now was his chance! He sprung on top of the wild boar and chained his deadly snout shut. He then lifted the beast around his shoulders and carried it all the way back to Tiryns. What a fright he gave King Eurystheus when he arrived at his palace! Eurystheus hid in a big wine jar and shouted, "Heracles, take it away, take it away!" |
Eurystheus gets a fright! Our hero did so but he can expect greater tasks in future for frightening the king. Reporters:Sam Rowley & Will Simpson |
