Time Capsule
On the last day of the Summer Term, Friday 21st July 2000, a ceremony was held at St John the Baptist Church in Ashley. A time capsule was placed in a new extension. Some of our children were involved.
| Victoria, Triona and Matthew from Mrs Cowley's class assisted in the collection of newspapers, money, parish magazines, an account of life in the Hugo Meynell School and other objects to go in a time capsule. | ![]() |

The time capsule was fitted under a stained glass window removed from the original church building to allow access from the new classroom/community rooms being built. A specially carved stone reading "2000 A.D." marks the place where the capsule is sealed in. | ||
| Present at the ceremony were the Reverend John Williams, vicar of St John's and the Archdeacon of Stoke. | ![]() |
