Olympic Day 2000

Our sports day this year was a special Olympic Day as this is Olympic year. It was held on the afternoon of  Thursday 6th July. The weather threatened to spoil things but it didn't as you can see.

	As "Chariots of Fire" plays the procession of teams begins.
		Plenty of cheering for their own year.
	The infants begin the afternoon's programme of events.
		Here they are in the exciting obstacle race.
	This year there was throwing for the first time. Here Year 3 try the discus.
		Year 4 try the javelin (those funny looking darts).
	The linking relay race.
		Winners received a certificate, "1st" ribbon and sticker.
	The skipping race.
		Year 5 boys in the exciting "chariot" race.
	Year 5 and 6 girls in the mass sprint race.
