Saturn

Saturn is one of the giant planets beyond the asteroid belt. It is the 2nd biggest planet in our Solar System. This is not surprising as it is 9 times bigger than Earth. The temperature on Saturn is approximately -170° C. The length of a year on Saturn is 29.5 earth days. It has 5 rings made of ice and rock. We think it is one of the most beautiful planets in our Solar System. It spins around once every 10.5 hours. It takes Saturn 29 Earth years to orbit the Sun. Saturn has 21 satellites. It also has at least 18 moons that are known. Saturn was discovered by a Dutch physicist called Christian Huygens in 1656.
