Barcelona Cathedral

Hi there! Here I am by Barcelona Cathedral, Spain. In 1883 Antoni Gaudi was appointed official architect of Templo Expiatorio de la Sagrada Familia (Church of the Sacred Family). The spires are all more than 100 metres tall. These spires can be seen from most parts of Barcelona and are unmatched in European architecture. Antoni Gaudi died in a trolley accident in 1926, the cathedral was left unfinished. They didn’t know whether to carry on building it or to leave it as a monument to Antoni Gaudi. When building started again in 1979 they followed the original plan of Gaudi.
