| Hi there! Here I am in Hawaii. It is situated in the North
Pacific Ocean off the West Coast of Mexico and North America. The capital is called
Honolulu. It consists of eight large and one hundred and twenty four volcanic islands.
There is an important US naval base at Pearl Harbour that was bombed by Japan in 1941.
Hawaii is nicknamed the Aloha State and their motto is "The life of the land is
perpetuated in righteousness". Hawaii is one of the fifty-two states of America; it
was given its statehood on the 21st August 1959. The national bird is a
Hawaiian goose called a Nene and the national tree is called a Kukui.
