Stonehenge

Hi there! Here I am by Stonehenge, England. Stonehenge is an ancient group of stones standing on Salisbury Plain. It was completed in about 1300 BC. Many of the stones are still standing. Originally, there were two main circles of stones, one inside the other. At the centre were two horseshoe–shaped rows of stones around a central block. We are not sure what it was built for but if it was used as a temple the block could have been an altar. Many people think Stonehenge was connected with worship of the sun and may have been some kind of calendar.
