Matterhorn

Hi there! Here I am by the Matterhorn, a mountain in the Alps in south-western Switzerland. The famous jagged peak is pyramid-shaped and rises to a height of 4,478 metres. Edward Whymper was the first man to climb the Matterhorn in July 1865. He was an English mountaineer and also an artist. It was Edwards eighth attempt to climb the Matterhorn and he finally succeeded.
