The Parthenon

Hi there! Here I am by the Parthenon in Athens,  Greece. It is one of the world's most famous buildings.The ruins of this great white marble temple stand on the Acropolis, a hill that overlooks the city. The building of the Parthenon began in 447 BC. It was completed in 438 BC. Rows of columns like huge tree trunks held up its sloping roof. Inside stood a great gold and ivory statue of Athena the city's patron goddess.
