The Great Wall

Hi there! Here I am on the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China was built in about 214 BC and is linked to a series of older walls. The first Emperor Qin Shi Huangdi used the forced labour of his people to build the Great Wall. Chinese people today still sing folk songs about the hardships suffered by the thousands of men who worked on the wall. The wall was strengthened during the Ming dynasty which was between 1368 and 1644. The Great Wall is the longest structure ever to be built and is the only manmade construction that is visible from outer space.
