Christmas in Iran

"Idah
Saidan"
Christians
in Iran do not eat eggs, cheese, milk or meat during Advent. They call this time the
"little fast" (the "big fast" being Lent, before Easter). After church
on Christmas Day they have a "little feast" for Christmas dinner which is
usually a chicken stew called harasa. Presents are not usually given but children wear their new clothes
with pride.

Iran, which used to
be called Persia, is thought to be where the Three Wise Men came from to see Jesus.
