This is a pond snail. 
It feeds on algae and plant material.
This is a juvenile ramshorn snail. 
It can grow to be about 6cm in diameter.

This large pond snail was caught in the flight pond. It feeds on algae. This picture shows filamentations algae - it grows in long threads. Tadpoles can be found in the Rosliston ponds also 'toadpoles' and 'newtpoles'. Hundreds of eggs are laid because only a few will survive because of the many predators feeding on them.

This is a stickle back found in the stream near Rosliston lower pond. A male shows a bright red underside, a female would be plain brown.

The male stickleback has a bright red underside to attract the female.

This is a water scorpion. It is a predator.

Here a large dragonfly nymph is eating a small newt. Which is the predator? Which is the prey?
