| The School uses Records of
Achievement from Years 7 to 11. This is a formal
reporting process that involves input from pupils and
teachers and includes target setting to allow pupils to
negotiate their progress.
The form tutor oversees the Record of
Achievement which includes a formal section stating the
courses each pupil has taken and the levels of success
that he/she has obtained. This reflects National
Curriculum levels in Years 7 to 9 and GCSE grades in
Years 10 and 11.
The emphasis throughout the School is
firmly based on positive achievement. The object of the
Record of Achievement is primarily to enhance the
motivation of pupils and to increase their commitment to
learning.
Assessment throughout the year leading
to the summative Record of Achievement is based upon
Departmental guidelines where work is regularly assessed
and recorded. Our policy for assessment for learning
ensures individuals progress commensurate with their
ability.
Parents attend consultation meetings
each year with the subject teachers to explore their
children's attainment as well as attending other
specialist evenings to discuss Key Stage 3 testing, the
curriculum at Key Stage 4 and transfer to post-16
institutions.

excellent extra-curricular provision" (Ofsted November
