| The Learning Support
Department, in its own area, is committed to providing
pupils of all abilities with the opportunity to succeed.
Advice is provided which supports the work of
departments within the school and individual pupils in
their completion of homework and coursework.
Those pupils in need of that extra
help are catered for by a team of staff working closely
with them and their teachers to ensure access to a full
curriculum and attainment at an appropriate level. This
may mean that pupils are withdrawn to be taught as a
small group or supported in the normal classroom
situation. Parents are always involved where these
special arrangements may apply.
In common with all other schools a
Special Educational Needs Code of Practice is followed
where Individual Plans are regularly created and
monitored for greatest effect.
