Further Information
How does ABLE Work?
It is a drop-in-centre, as well as running some short evening courses. You can attend at any time the centre is open, though most students come once or twice a week. There is always an experienced tutor to help you. You can join at any time during the year.
How can I start?
Ring us or come to the Centre and make an appointment for a confidential initial interview. Together with a tutor you will plan an individual learning programme to suit your needs.
What about childcare?
We have a free crèche on Wednesdays 09:30 to 11:30 during term time. We may also be able to help with your childcare costs at other times.
Can I get a qualification?
You can earn recognised certificates for the work you do, if you wish.
What sort of courses could I do?
We run short evening courses (2 hours a week) e.g. Starting with Computers. This course will teach you some basic computing and word-processing skills and give you a chance to practise writing things like letters and CVs on a computer at the same time.
How do I get there?
If you are coming by bus, take Oxford City number 52 or Stagecoach number 1, both from Queen Street in Oxford. A map of the ABLE centre's location can be found here.
