About LA

Linksfield Academy is a modern, six-year comprehensive school which contains in its catchment area Donbank, Hanover Street, Seaton and St. Peters R.C. Primary Schools and these pupils normally transfer to Linksfield Academy at the end of Primary 7. The school is also associated with Aberdeen School for the Deaf and the ESL Service.

Linksfield Academy was built during 1974/75 and was occupied by pupils and staff to begin the Session 1975 / 76.  Linksfield Academy replaced three schools, they were Old Aberdeen, Middle and Frederick Street School for secondary education.  The School was officially opened on Friday 23rd April 1976. The opening ceremony was performed by Councillor A F Mutch JP., who was at that time, Convenor of the Grampian Regional Council and the then Director of Education James A D Michie.  Linksfield Academy had the distinction of being the first purpose built  community school in Aberdeen City.
