If equipment is recommended following an assessment, an extensive trial period is sometimes necessary. Communication aids are often expensive and the school, parents and student should be given time to ensure their suitability before the relevant authorities make any purchases. To help meet this need, the ACE Centre has a small library of short-term loan equipment which is generally lent for a term at a time. This equipment is purchased through fundraising by the charity specifically for this purpose. there are modest charges associated woth this service to help cover the cost of insurance.
