Day courses at the ACE Centre
The ACE Centre team of teachers and therapists offers a wide range of themed day courses for a maximum of 15 people. These days are arranged through an agency, CENTRA (tel 01257 241428), who can supply further details on content and take your booking.
Day course dates for 2000

Advice/training sessions
Advice/training sessions can be arranged at the ACE Centre for individuals or small groups of up to five people. The key benefit of these two and a half hour long sessions is that you choose the training you want and the training is then provided at your particular level. For example, you could spend the morning with our speech and language therapists discussing signs and symbols, or learn how to use a specific speech output device. You could get to grips with a particular piece of software with the help of one of our teachers, or try out alternative access devices with our physiotherapist and occupational therapists. Or simply discuss with our technical staff what computer system is appropriate for your school. It’s an efficient way to meet personal training needs at the level you are comfortable with.

Day courses at the venue of your choice
You can invite the ACE Centre team to speak or run a training day for your organisation. Alternatively, after consultation you can bring a group of up to 12 delegates for training here at the ACE Centre. Course content is planned and prepared to meet your particular requirements.

Communication Technology Review
An increasing number of schools are requesting assistance when reviewing their policy on aided communication and the use of technology. The review is designed to ‘take stock’ of existing provision and make recommendations for the future. These recommendations may include equipment required, software, advice as to which children require a full, interdisciplinary assessment, and recommendations for staff training.

Occasional training
The ACE Centre occasionally runs ‘one-off’ training days that focus on specialised or additional relevant topics. Keep an eye on this website for details of these and other events.
