Having owned three X1/9's previously (a 'Lido' amongst them) I decided to buy another to try and re-capture something i'd lost some years before (quite what i'm not altogether sure), following a look in the X1/9 Owners Club Magazine I found a 'Lido' for sale locally, went and had a look and bought it on the spot (always a bad move with cars!). This car was a shadow of my former 'Lido' but was very un-rusty and really needed just paint to make it look very good indeed, this unfortunately never happened.

My job conspired to work against me on this one, the company I worked for in those days took on a contract with Asda and for three months me and my colleagues at the time worked almost constantly. Having bought the car on the First of April I drove it only a few times before selling six-months later to an enthusiast from Brighton who wanted to restore it, and has done so very successfully I understand.
