The second car I owned was an Austin Mini Clubman 1100 which was a sort of Mushroom brown or beige colour. It went and handled fairly well etc, better in fact than the Fiat did. I don't remember a great deal about this car as I only owned it for a short while maybe only 3 months but in that time I realised that it was really a car that should have been scrapped some years earlier but as it was a Mini it still had some worth within the motor trade and therefore it had remained on the road, but as the first few weeks of ownership unfolded it turned out that this car had a somewhat chequered history and had many secrets hidden within such as a blanked hole where a second fuel tank had been, copious amounts of extra wiring (all unused now), lowered suspension via the usual (somewhat dangerous) route of cutting the cones off and brakes that were to say the least past their best.
All this lead to the realisation that if I wanted a half-decent car I would have to spend quite a lot of money so its apparent worth in the motor trade came in handy as it seems that one can always shift a Mini (the same cannot be said for Fiats), however the day it was taken to the dealer I bought the next car from its big end bearings failed panic ensued but he still took it for the agreed price so a major sigh of relief was exhaled and car number three was taken home.
Absolutely no pictures of this car exist at all, what a relief !!!!.
