Car number Twenty.

The need for a sensible car with a bit of style was called for, to transport me to my new job in Newbury so I traded my Tipo in for a Vauxhall Tigra 1600 16v, but only a few days after having this new car I was given some company transport ! so it negated buying it somewhat ! Anyway I enjoyed it quite a lot as these cars are really a lot of fun, but when you get to know them well they are nothing more than a Corsa with a different body and may look sporty but are really sanitised eurocars made to look pretty to fill niche markets.

The usual I.C.E. upgrade was not possible as these cars are geared to having manufacturer upgrades fitted, the dash mounted display making the fitting of proper car stereo equipment very difficult indeed, not impossible just damn awkward ! So very little was possible internally, and even less possible under the bonnet as due to the emission regulations little beyond an exhaust or air filter are possible.

So after less than a year this car too was sold, the money banked and some more payed off my mortgage, a period of several months passed with no personal car at all, the most being made of my new company Mk4 Astra which can be described as a nice car but very average ! and following some of the mechanical failures I certainly would'nt buy one at all (especially if I had £13K to spare).
