Many options are available from rear silencers to full systems replacing the cast manifold and even catalytic converter (removal of the catalyst is a competition only modification and may not be legal depending which country you are in). Replacing the standard exhaust from the catalyst backwards could release anything up to 10% more power but is best combined with other modifications to give a larger overall power increase. One drawback of all "free flow" exhausts is the increase in noise that will occur, quite often making a car unbearably noisy and thus tiring to drive for long distances.
