EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVTIES
We have a number of these but they do vary from term to term. So at the time of writing these include a school band, recorder groups and a singing group.
There is also a gymnastics club, a drama club and a French club. These take place on the school premises and are run by qualified staff but not school staff. Our children are eligible to join but there is a small charge. The school office can give details of who to contact.
FRIENDS OF THE ALBERT PYE SCHOOL
This association consists of parents and staff who work closely together in order to support the school. They organise a variety of social events in order to raise funds for the school. The funds are used to purchase additional equipment and assist with specific projects.
The committee consists of parents, staff and a governor but the committee welcome the involvement of all parents. They particularly like to have a number of parents willing to give them help at events.
In addition, the Friends help the children in other ways, for example, providing refreshments on Sports Day and other occasions.
EDUCATIONAL VISITS
The school regards educational visits as an important element in a broad and balanced curriculum. The governing body reserves the right to ask for a voluntary contribution from parents in order to cover the cost of such visits. Detailed information will always be provided prior to each visit.
