Information for Parents
Parents are invited to school in the Autumn and Spring terms to meet staff and discuss their child's progress. All parents will receive an annual written report in the Summer term about their child's work. This will be followed by an Open Evening which will have a more informal style than the Parents' Evenings.
In addition we are happy to see parents at other times so that teachers and parents can keep in contact and they can be aware of their child's progress. Sometimes small problems can arise and it is advisable to contact staff at an early stage. Please remember that parents may visit the school at any time without an appointment if they or their children have an urgent problem. If the matter is not urgent, a telephone call or note requesting an appointment will be appreciated because of the staff's teaching commitments.
We welcome parental involvement within the school and if there are parents who can spare the time to help with school activities we shall be pleased to hear from you.
Every class has a day each term when the parents of children in that class are invited to join their child for a school meal. This gives parents the chance to sample a lunch themselves and the children enjoy having a guest.
We hope that we shall make your child feel secure and happy during his or her time at school. Class teachers assume responsibility for the day to day behaviour and well-being of each child. Should he or she feel unwell, or in the event of an accident, staff will contact parents at home. Emergency telephone numbers should be made available to the school. At the beginning of each year, you will be asked to update details.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
The colours of the school uniform are green and grey. The children wear grey skirts, pinafore dresses or trousres. Sweatshirts and T-shirts with the school name and logo are available from the school office. In the summer a green dress may be worn.
