A beautiful sunny spring morning dawned on Oxfordshire to greet the 72 riders who arrived to take part in the 2nd Round of the North Berks Club Trials Championship at the famous Seymour's Arena. This is the biggest entry ever in the club's history of closed to club trials.

Three weeks previously this was one of the section groups for the first round of the 2009 Novogar championship when most of the UK riders were seen fighting the man-made rocky sections.

On Sunday the top man was Ross Danby, making the long trip down from Bewdley using the 4 laps of 8 section much modified course to sharpen him up for the forthcoming Scottish round of the British Trials championship. Not having it all his own way he went round clean, hard on his tail was local lad Tom Nicholas who has just returned to the sport after a couple of years, Tom losing 1 mark, in 3rd place was Dan Clarke on 10, 4th Alan Ayres on 12.

The 50/50 clubman route was won by all rounder Scott Faulkner who lost 25 marks, losing double his score was Aaron Tame on 50, next was Joe Bayliss on 67.

The clubman B route was won by Mark Elms, next Jim Parker and in third place the twin shock specialist Mark Stokes one mark behind.

The winner of the Clubman C class was John Quigg losing 6, second Mark Jackson 3 marks behind, in third place was club stalwart Mick Bayliss, in 6th place was the ex-army enduro champion Shaun Skinner who has taken up the sport in his mature years.

The Youth A winner, also riding the hard course, was a young man to watch in the future Bradley Cox who comes from the famous Woodstock near Blenheim Palace who only shed 5 marks, this score would have given him 3rd place overall in the expert class, in second was Ross Fletcher, third Ryan Henderson.

Having it all his own way in the Youth A 50/50 was Tom Matthews,

Youth B saw a tie for first place but the result going to young Neil Dodd who keeps popping up in the results recently, he won on most cleans from Tristan Robinson, and next was Carl Shirley.

Youth C saw a win from Swindon's Thomas O'Sullivan from the Wantage farmer's son Bertie Raines, from third Ben Skinner.

In Youth D class, clerk of the course supremo Stuart Robinson's daughter, Alicia, annhialated the opposition going round losing only 7 marks, second was Peter Killingback riding his first ever trial, next in this popular youngster's class was Mark Swanston, followed by Jack Thomas also riding his first ever trial too.

This man-made rocky course was marked ideally for all groups. Section 3 being marshalled by club treasurer Geoff Williams took marks from most of the entry.

Next event on the Club's calendar is the 3rd round of the club championship on Sunday 12th April, Easter Sunday.
