About All Saints School

  • All About Our School

        The school dates back to the year 1835 when it opened in All Saints Street. It is the oldest     school in Hastings!!!
        It has been housed at Githa road since 1959.
        The school has close links with All Saints Church, the school is now in the parish of All     Souls.
        We are a Church of England aided junior school with children from the age of 7 to 11.

    Upcoming Events

    Event One:................................................In February 1999 some of the year 6 children will be going on a residential trip to France.


    Event Two:..................................................Inter-House football and netball a chance for the children to play the two most popular sports in a highly charged competition. This will be happening in the last few weeks of term.



    Event Three:.................................................Year 5 and 6 trip to Battle Abbey as a part of their topic on local history, they will be off to the site where the Normans and the Saxons fought in the battle of 1066.

    Classes

  • As from September the classes will be changing to single age groups.


    Year Three:Mrs Walker and Mr Lucus will now be teaching the year three children, Next years topics will cover :- Hastings today, Celebrations, Our World in Space, Light and Sound, Ancient Egypt and Mini Beasts.


    Year Four:will be taught by Miss King and Mr Norcross. They will also be covering a wide range of curriculum including topics on Ancient Greece, Materials, Going Places, Forces and Motion, Invaders and My Body.


    Year Five:will be taught by Miss Bell and Mrs Sandeman (do not worry, Miss Hay is getting married in the summer!) They will be covering a wide variety of topics including, Local History, Energy, The World Around Us, The Arts, Tudors and Green Plants.


    Year Six:will be taught by Miss Radice and Mr Brown. They will be preparing the children for SATs and secondary school. They will be covering the following topics Our Earth and Beyond, Physical Processes, Distant Localities, Chemical Reactions, Tudors and Living Things.

  • All classes will also be doing the numerary and literacy hours every day.

  • At All Saints Junior School we provide a wide range of activities for the children to do during dinner and after school, these include;
  • Netball
  • Football
  • Latin
  • Recorders (all abilities) (see top picture opposite)
  • Art
  • Drama (see middle picture opposite)
  • Young Engineers (see bottom picture opposite)
  • Choir
  • Table Tennis
  • Stamp Collecting
  • Chess
  • We also offer a wide range of musical tuition including Keyboard, Clarinet, Violin, Guitar and Recorders.
