Alverstoke County Infant School lies in a well favoured area mid-way between Alverstoke village centre and the beach at Stokes Bay.
The school was built in 1961; it has six permanent classrooms off a wide corridor. The corridor is set up to provide activity areas for the children. There is a large hall, library and also resource areas. The school has its own kitchen.
The building is set in very attractive surroundings with mature hedgerows and trees. The Reception classes open onto an enclosed play area, with a safe surface, an adjacent patio and orchard. The Year 1 and 2 classes open onto a covered patio and a grassy bank. There is a large asphalt playground with a brick built playhouse and a quiet reading area and a sensory garden plus an adjoining playing field with an Activity Trail. |
