Where we are

To get to Shugborough  you can follow the signposts from
junction 13 or 14 of the M6.  It is located between Stafford and Rugeley.

Local interest

Shugborough was built in 1693 and is now the home of Lord Lichfield, a leading photographer and second cousin to the Queen.  The splendid mansion house is decorated using fine
collections of eighteenth century ceramics, silver, paintings and French furniture.  Shugborough also has agnificent grounds.  A favourite part of the grounds is the Chinese House which
reflects the English landowners admiration of classical
architecture which was fashionable at that time.

Glossary

Shugborough has an annual events
programme as well as lots of educational things for children to do.  You can go back in time and dress up in Victorian clothes and work hard in the kitchen making food, or you can get dirty on the farm looking after the animals including Robbie the shire horse.
