Barge - A narrow in width boat originally used to transport products and raw materials around the country. The boat would have been horse-drawn with the horse and worker walking on the tow-path. With the development of the road system and railways, barges are now also used for living on.
British Waterways - Responsible for a certain section of waterway, including conserving the surrounding environment and wildlife habitat.
Canal - A man-made construction, built during the Industrial Revolution in the 18th century, to transport goods and cargo around the country.
Canal tow-path - The path by a canal where a horse would pull the barge from.
