Alan Rodgers and Angella Streluk Welcome you to their Web Site

Alan Rodgers
Alan is an Independent Educational Computing consultant. His career has included writing a set of children's books on the weather for Heinemann Education, producing a Geography and ICT Teacher's handbook and a KS1 ICT teacher's book. He has written material for the University of Hull, Becta, CfBT and Naace. He formerly had experience as a NOF (New Opportunities Fund) trainer.  He is available for consultation on any ICT topics and general primary education matters.

He was formerly a  primary school teacher. He has a special interest in the weather (both educational and personal) and ICT (Information and Communication Technology). Teaching was his second career, started after graduating from Keele University as a  mature student.

Angella Streluk is a primary school teacher with responsibility for geography and history throughout the school. She obtained a BA with the O.U. not many years ago. Being of Ukrainian origins she is interested in the Ukraine & in genealogy.

She is currently working on an interesting local history topic. She is researching Gibbs and Canning, a local factory who provided the bulk of the decorative terracotta for the Natural History Museum, and the Albert Hall in London. Any help with this research will be very gratefully received.

Angella has co-authored material with Alan and has also written material in her own right.

If you have been wondering about Angella's injuries (both breaks) she is now recovering well and is walking again.

See our book,  Primary ICT Handbook - Geography, Nelson Thornes, ISBN 0-7487-6706-1

Also with Nelson Thornes we wrote the KS1 ICT Learning Targets book.

These are currently being revised for anew edition.

The American versions are also available
To find all of our books in one list search for 'Streluk' at Amazon.co.uk

Willow and Flora found us rather than us finding them. They are a super pair of young cats, brother and sister. They have are gradually settling in and are already showing great potential.

Merry and Pippin were two felines who lived at the same address as Alan and Angella. They both lived to be fifteen years old. Their pages can still be visited, and bring back lots of happy memories for us.

Walking Holidays Here are Alan and  Angella on a walking holiday in Wales. The beautiful countryside of Central Wales is a favourite area for getting away from it all, despite the frequent rainy weather, as in 1998. See us enjoying ourselves on a walking holiday web page. Look for us  down the page in the dining room.
We like to make use of a Garmin GPS12 (a satellite navigation aid) and would be pleased to receive any interesting lists of co-ordinates to program into it. We also have a Kestrel 4000 Pocket Weather Tracker. This has proved very interesting. See more about it on my Kestrel 4000 Page.

Both Angella and Alan love our wild area. It changes throughout the season. Pippin loved to lie under the cherry tree in the dappled shade. The plants there are perfect food for the butterflies and moths.

Perhaps you would like to see some of our other work on web sites.  Some of the URLs are listed below.

This web site is part of the Staffordshire Learning Net. It is also part of the National Grid For Learning.  If you live abroad we would appreciate an informal weather report for your area.

You will find some of our work here, as well as lots of other interesting things produced by our county. On the Geography curriculum area particular look at the Window on the World and check for pictures of Tamworth and the Ukraine. On the History curriculum area look at the Millennium Timeline and search for Amington Heath. You should see our pupils handiwork there.

This is hopefully a useful site, including links to other interesting web projects that the school has taken part in.
