My main interest is the weather. Other interests include walking, gardening and a general interest in nature. I have recently revived an interest in painting with watercolours.
Weather and Computers  I am currently managing, with Angella, an educational web site relating to weather in schools. It includes instructions on how to take readings, along with weather data from different parts of Staffordshire.
wstatio.gif (44310 bytes)I  have been collecting basic weather data for about eighteen years. Although the site is not ideal it provides interesting data. I also have a remote sensing weather station on the roof. This can feed information into a computer. For more information on my weather data please visit my Weather Notes Page and my Weather Data Page.

I have a Kestrel 4000 Pocket Weather Tracker. This has proved very interesting. See more about it on my Kestrel 4000 Page.

Current Career Interests My new career has included co-authoring a set of children's books on the weather for Heinemann Education. The series is called 'Measuring the Weather' and can be seen on Heinemann's UK and USA websites. I have also co-authored a Geography and ICT Teacher's handbook for Nelson Thornes. This proved to be very stimulating, making me look very closely at objectives and assessment. My KS1 ICT learning Targets book, also for Nelson Thornes, was delightful in that it includes fun photocopiables.
I worked as a NOF (New Opportunities Fund) trainer for Granada Learning Professional Development (and formerly did the same for the Regional Staff College, ICAA). This involved guiding staff, in school, through the training which will bring them up to the required standard in ICT for teachers.
I am available for consultation on any ICT topics and general primary education matters.
Open University In 1996 I graduated from the Open University as a Master of Arts in Education. This was the culmination of five years hard work whilst in full time employment. I particularly enjoyed the courses related to computers and child development.  Open University Home Page.
