Steel Band
Steel band is an instrument designed by the Jamaicans.It is an instrument made of steel and has the same amount of notes as normal instruments.People play steel pans with steel band sticks,which are made of wood and rubber.
Aston Manor is a school that plays steel band.There are two different groups of steel band, one is Aston Manor and another is BSSB.It means Birmingham School Steel Band.The BSSB has more opportunity, and goes out of school all the time.This steel band has Aston Manor steel band players in it.We have achieved much and hope to go further in the future.We have met Blue Peter presenters,Prince Charles and the Duke of Edinburgh.Jeremy Newton a steel band player says "I think steel band is a great opportunity for young people to build up on their courage to use a musical instrument.I like the after school activities very much and hope to meet a very famous person someday.steel band is fab"!!!!!!
