Balksbury Junior School school year 2001-2001
There are several sporting clubs run at the school by the teaching staff.

Each year, Balksbury take a team of children from all of the Y3 to Y6 age range to compete in a gala against the other local schools. It takes place at the Andover Leisure Centre and is much enjoyed by the children who take part. |

Another annual event is the Inter-School Athletics Championship, which involves a mixed age team of about 60 children, who compete against other Andover schools for various running trophies. The venue for this event is the Charlton sports ground. |
Cricket training this year has been run by one of our Governors, Andy Hooper, who took a team of girls to compete this summer. The team did well, reaching the final of the Hampshire schools tournament and being given the honour of playing at the Rosebowl, Hampshire's new cricket ground. |
| Another first for the school was the extra swimming sessions run for the children who were almost swimming - but not quite! This was met with great enthusiasm from the children and they have made great improvements in both their confidence and their style. |
