About the school
WELCOME TO BAMFORD Bamford is a Grant Maintained Primary School catering for the age range from 4 to 11+. Children are admitted to our Reception class at the beginning of the school year during which they attain the age of five. At present they leave us seven years later when they are eleven and are admitted to High School. Our large and spacious school opened in 1968. All the infant classes have their own cloakroom and toilet facilities. There is also a Library and a Music room. The School Hall is used for Assemblies, Physical Education, School Concerts and also as a dining area. The younger children have their own separate dining area. There are three hard surface playing areas and the grass playing fields extend to two hectares. OUR SCHOOL AND YOURS When your child becomes a member of our school, you too are part of our school community. We regard it as a privilege to share with you the life and development of your child. Education is a shared enterprise in which the children, their parents and the school participate. A positive relationship between home and school enhances a child's attitude to learning, behaviour and motivation. We seek to encourage a shared commitment to the success of each individual child by involving parents as fully as possible in the life and work of the school.
