The Association for Teachers of Social Science has a site at Leicester University which is edited by Tony Lawson. In addition to some valuable information on the site itself, it also offers you access to a variety of useful websites.

Hewett School in Norfolk offers a jazzy and exciting set of pages, some of which are for the students of the school, and some of which you will find interesting for downloading notes and exercises.

liveseylogo.jpg (3980 bytes)For all the notes and support that you will ever want or need, written in an accessible and personal style, have a look at Chris Livesey's Sociology Central site. You are advised to download onto a disc rather than print materials out directly. This site is growing all the time and is an excellent resource for you to use. You can also get there from the ATSS site and others, so you see that it is highly recommended.

For a number of links to all kinds of sites and information see the academic UK site, Social Science Gateway

The British Government has a vast site which will repay hours of browsing and link chasing. It can be difficult to find specific information unless you make your search words fairly precise

For government statistics which will support your coursework and provide you with up-to-date information and guidance, you should look at the excellent but frequently changing and therefore sometimes inaccessible site

For links to a wide range of sites which concentrate on social theory, see Sociologists: Dead and very much alive.

Radford University in the USA has a very helpful site known as the Dead Sociologists Index which concentrates on biographies and outlines of the theories of a variety of the classical sociologists. They all share two things in common, they are male and they are dead, hence the gruesome title of the site.

If you are feeling clever, and/or political then why not look at the Marxism Page? It is a University site, so expect to be challenged, but if you have problems, you know where to find me in school!

South Devon College has an interesting site which has been created by John Maloney. There are some useful worksheets and study skills pointers to download. Look for those which are exercises based on Jorgensen et al's excellent text book.

I have put some simple links for GCSE students on a special page. These may also be of use to you. Look for GCSE links
