Well Gang

The first day turned out to be a little wet didn't it? A little bit like the day you came up to do the Lost Village. Well maybe not quite as bad as that!

On the first day we had our groups present the information they had gathered to the rest of the class. All three groups wrote a poem. You can read them below.
This is a poem about electricity called Lecky ... very Coronation Street Girls!! Meanwhile the Water group wrote this poem about our use of water and how to use less.
Lecky it makes me happy
Lecky it makes me bright
Lecky when the lights are on
Oh lecky it makes me warm

Water, Water save more water
Take a shorter shower
Use less water
Fill the sink to wash your hands
Use less water
Turn off the tap while cleaning your teeth
USE LESS WATER
Finally on the first morning we had a look at the weather and here is the poem the weather group made up.
Today is cold with lots of sunshine
And there are no clouds in the sky
The temperature is 1.5 degrees
While the rainfall's 2.1 millimetres
The wind speed is nothing
And we think the forecast is going to beeeeeee
Remaining nice with frost at night...

During the day one group went out to have a look at Loch Muick while the others went out to have a look at pattern and texture in the environment.... that sounds very posh! Here are some of the photos taken this morning.

Fed up? Here's Emma, looking deep in thought... or is she just fed up? Muick Here's a picture of the group that went up to Glen Muick in the morning. They were very lucky with the weather. The afternoon group found the weather to be rather cold and snowy.
Here's some of Robbie's Cooking!... No it's not, actually it is a stone surrounded by ice which the morning trip spotted. We thought it would be nice to include that as an example of texture in the environment. Icy Some more ice! {short description of image}
{short description of image} So this is the picnic area? Where's the food and why's it so cold here? {short description of image} Here's a picture of the boys searching for truffles. Well no that's not quite true. They're busy working on the tree study.
Oh it's Douglas Fir cones that Mrs. Moore has in her hands!! What is this in Mrs. Moore's hands? If you walk any closer you'll be in a Holly bush! It's a holly bush
Michael's a blur Last of all we have Michael walking so fast that he and the background are just a blur! Either that or our photographer didn't get it quite right!

More poetry from Wednesday's electricity group.

Electric, electric it keeps us warm

Electric, electric we use it in the dorm

Electric, electric it keeps on the lights

Electric, electric it keeps it very bright

Electric, electric we have nothing else to say

Electric electric and now we're going away

...and in fact you have just gone away... about ten minutes ago... away back to Aberdeen where I hope you all have a really nice weekend. We trust you had a good week at Ballater and wish you all the best for the future. Keep safe!
