Dear Familiar Faces (well Mr Taylor thinks they're familiar anyway)

It was really nice to welcome you all to Ballater Environmental Education Centre... It was a bit snowy on your arrival wasn't it? That was okay because you all brought plenty of clothes and waterproof shoes and things... didn't you? Just as well, because we always go out whatever the weather... as you can see from the photograph below.... and this was just the start of the afternoon's work!!!

Bit of a wet day!

All the best

Beecy

Some Poems and Pictures

Water
Water is wet
Water is Cool
Water likes to run all over the school

Don't use a lot of water a day
Or you'll get a fright when it's time to pay
Help our environment to keep safe
So use your water at a slow pace

Electricity
We went to the cupboard in the hall
To read the meter on the wall
We looked at the numbers to see what it would say
To find out the kilowatts we'd used that day
177 kilowatts we'd used that day
Some Photos
Carly This picture of Carly was taken by our roving photographer who took this picture of Carly with the camera down by his leg. Fiona Fiona's stopped for a cigarette... Nah it's a pencil she has in her mouth.
Mrs Fisher is busy taking pictures and Mr Taylor is taking pictures of Mrs Fisher taking pictures of Nicola and Roger. Maggie Roger and Edward actually look as if they're working... What do you think? Roger and Edward
Roger and Nicola Help me pick up this thin white snake please Nicola... Roger and Nicola It's not a snake Roger... it's a tape measure.
Sean's really busy planning his holiday as a tornado. It's either that or he's drawing a picture of his tree. Sean More people pretending to work... Hah! Bourach
Stewart Here's the Dalai Lama communing with Nature... Sorry... no.... it's Stuart at the tree study. Elaine cloud gazing As Elaine gazes at the clouds she has only one thought in her mind... What am I getting for my birthday tomorrow?
Jimmi sits with an unknown friend making up poetry for next year's valentine cards... How sweet! Jimmi Valentino Having conquered the elements, this intrepid band of explorers take a rest from animal spotting... and a lot they spotted too! Intrepid explorers
Jonathan canvassing Excuse me. My name's Jonathan and I'm carrying out a survey of those girls who would like to go out with me. Working hard ...and my name's Laura. I'm trying to ignore Mr Smith who, luckily for me, has gone to speak to Katie.
Goodness me! Another band of adventurers standing at the bottom of the Capel Mounth... You seem to have lost your cattle though! Adventurers Katie and Lauren... dazed by Mr Smith's contribution of appearing at meal times and proffering advice on pattern and texture. Katie and Lauren
And finally... I think I might refrain from putting a caption on this one and leave it up to your own imaginations. If you think of a good one please email it to Beecy.

...and now some more poetry..
Tuesday was snowing
With the wind blowing
Wednesday was wetter
But Thursday is better
The wind was blowing
And the river was flowing
Tomorrow is the day we go away
Our forecast is unpredictable all day
Even there is no sun
We will still have lots of fun
... and this next one was sung to the tune of Frere Jacques Chorus
Use less water
Use less water
Why don't you
Why don't you
Save a little water
Save a little water
We will too
We will too

Verse
This week at Ballater we tried hard
To use less water but we were bad
Yesterday throughout the day
The taps were running all the way
We tried to use less but we used even more
The total was 6494
Please keep thinking and use less
Try your hardest and do your best
Have a shorter shower
Turn off the tap
Put the plug in
Don't be a sap
When you flush the tiolet
Water runs down
It would make Mr Taylor frown
So if it's yellow let it mellow
If it's brown flush it down

...and finally here's a picture of our birthday girl Elaine, 12 today.
Birthday girl
Happy birthday Elaine from all of us at BEEC.

Well that's just about it for the week. I do hope you had a good time here. I know that my staff have really enjoyed your company... then they always look forward to Laurencekirk coming. Why? Because you are always really well behaved and have a good sense of humour. Excellent Dudes!!! Until next time
