Here's BeecyGordon Primary School

16th - 19th November 1998

Dear Gordon Primary School,

What a superb week we've had here once again. Even if the other schools who come are half as good that would be really great!

It has been a very cold week. On Tuesday the temperature never really got above freezing. It was a beautiful day... but cold! However when it is really cold we just wrap up well and go out anyway. We check the weather every morning just to see how many clothes we have to put on and then off out we go.

Anyway enough of this chit chat. Let's have a look at the rest of the page. By the way there has been a lot of wrapping this week. We have had wrapping up warm to go out and we have had rapping in the lab. Read some of the lab raps down below. First of all, however, I'll let you see some photos showing just how cold it was.

Come back soon

Beecy

A frost covered twig It was so cold this week that Mr. Taylor could have taken any of these photos any of the days Gordon was up.
Some frosty fir leaves. Frosty fir leaves
The grass is frosty too! And some frost covered grass.
It was cold wasn't it?... but beautiful! Some frosty red leaves
An icy waterfall at Burn o'Vat It was so cold that this waterfall froze completely.
Well... are you feeling cold yet? Maybe the next couple of photos will make you shiver.
Al eaf encased in ice
This is the leaf that Steven found at Burn o'Vat. It was completely covered in ice. Amazing!!!
To your right is a picture of Steven finding it.

Now we have some of the poems and other pieces of writing that the children completed over the week.

The Tap Rap

Turn on the tap
Turn off the tap
Look at the graph
What can you see?
What must we do
To make things better?
Turn off the tap
And do the water rap
We've used too much
We could do with less
So let's all try
To do our best.
So turn off the tap
And do the water rap.
Five minutes is enough
For any child
Any more time
And the staff go wild
So turn off the tap
And do the water rap
Do the water rap.

Electricity People
Here are the electricity rappers.
Electricity

Boom boom light the room

Electricity
Zap zap enjoy this rap
Everybody
We had a little peeper
To read the little meter
Electricity
We've done our best
And we've used less
Electricity
We must keep going
Electricity flowing
We must stay warm
When it is snowing
Electricity.
Water People
And here are the water rappers!
Twinkle twinkle little light
We must switch you off at night
We must save electricity
For the benefit of you and me
Twinkle twinkle little light
We must switch off...

Good night

Humpty Dumpty switched on the light
And he got a very big fright
He had used 506 k's
In the course of long days.
Hard at work
Hard at work wondering how to present the weather to the rest of the class. Look you can see Mrs. Allen's head too!
Gordon Primary School are extremely cool
They've tried to follow every rule
They know they are not perfect yet
They will get better.. wanna bet?
They now know what they've got to do
But some of it is up to you!
You have to do your bit
Switch off the top so it doesn't drip.
And finally on News at Ten some good news. The children from Gordon Primary have shown that they've become more aware of the need to use less water. Over the last 24 hours they have used 500 litres less than the previous days. However there is still room for improvement.

Well this is probably the longest page Beecy has had to put together so far. Thanks again Gordon for a really good week.

See you soon
