"There is a strong ethos in the school with emphasises the personal development of pupils. There is a clear philosophy which reflects a commitment to raising pupils' self-esteem and sense of worth, and the development of positive relationships and behaviour. The school is a community focused on helping pupils to flourish as human beings."

"The support and advice provided by the school, in relation to all aspects of pupils' pastoral and academic well-being, are a strength of the school."

"The school provides excellent support and guidance for pupils, and works tirelessly to ensure high academic and personal standards."

"Teachers know the pupils very well as individuals and are committed to clear and high expectations of work and behaviour. These factors contribute to highly-positive relationships with pupils which lead to consistently good progress."

"Pupils concentrate well on their tasks and persevere with them until they are complete, taking pride in what they have achieved. They work well together, collaborating effectively when required. On those occasions, when they are given the chance to use their initiative and take responsibility for their own learning, they are able to do so successfully."

"The provision for pupils' moral development is very good. The overall ethos and pattern of relationships in the school, strongly reinforce pupils' moral sense. Pupils have good opportunities to reflect on moral issues in a number of subject areas and through the general tutorial programme. The overall pastoral provision places a very strong emphasis on helping individuals understand the importance of positive behaviour."

"The staff provide excellent role models and work well as a team in helping to create a climate in which the pupils' well-being is paramount."

A final quotation from the Report:

"The school aims to provide academic excellence within a caring and responsible educational environment and has a great deal of success in achieving its aims. The high ambitions it sets for itself are very much reflected in the unstinting efforts of staff. Relationships among staff are harmonious and their commitment to helping each individual pupil to do his best contributes towards the school's very positive ethos, and to the good academic progress and personal development of pupils."
