Diploma in Digital Applications – level 2 qualification in ICT
The course is made up of four units and passing all four gives students a diploma in digital applications (DIDA) which is equivalent to 4 A-C passes at GCSE. Alternatively, students can complete just the first unit to be awarded AIDA (award) or two units to be awarded CIDA (certificate).
OCR Level 2 National Certificate in Health and Social Care
The materials have been written to closely match the OCR Level 2 National Certificate in Health and Social Care syllabus.
The course is assessed by an online summative project which students are expected to access independently. The materials that have been developed at Birley not only aim to teach the students the required ICT skills but also how to access the summative project briefs in an independent fashion. The course is split into teacher led presentations, short skill building tasks and longer ISkills tasks which ask the students to work in the same way that they are expected to when completing the assessed Edexcel tasks.
Assessment for learning fundamentals are firmly embedded within the course with students expected to self and peer assess their ISkills tasks at regular intervals
The content of each unit is split into topics which cover each assessment objective. The content is then further divided into sub-topics, with student tasks to match each sub-topic. Sub-topics and tasks are designed to promote independent learning, communication and assessment for learning. Students should complete several tasks and sub-topics before undertaking the topic assessment.
Included on this disc are examples of sub-topics, tasks, assessments and interactive end of unit quiz’s to give an insight into the complete course.
