FORCES
We have been learning about forces. A force is a push or a pull.
Gravity is a force, which pulls all objects to the ground.
Forces and Friction
If you rub your hands together you can feel the heat of friction. Friction tries to slow down and stop moving objects. We explored this using cars and a ramp. We let the car travel over different surfaces.
Forces and Magnets
We also explored the force of magnets
We grouped materials into magnetic and not magnetic. We used a magnet to test the objects first. We discovered that materials made from steel and iron are magnetic. these materials are attracted to the magnet. Other objects made from wood, plastic and paper for example are repelled by the magnet.
