BIRDS: Manor wood has many different species of birds from Blackbirds to Nuthatches. There are also many bird's nests in many of the trees from Summer to Autumn..The most common bird is probably the Blue tit.
TREES: There is a range of different types of trees in the wood. From the common oak to the birch. There are lots of pine trees in the school grounds and wildlife area.

MAMMALS: There are many nocturnal birds and mammals. There may be badgers and there are definitly owls and a few other wild birds. We also have the odd mole.
PLANTS: There are many plants in the wood. Along the edge of the school field there are many daffodils. There are many different kinds of wild flowers and well known flowers.

INSECTS: There are many different species of insects and there are also wasp's nests and bee's nests in the Summer. We have beetles. From the ones you see every day to some that some of our younger children may not of heard of. There are worms embedded in the ground. There are also different types of tree beetles in many of our trees.
HISTORY OF THE WOOD: The wood might have been a lot larger before the village was built and houses were constructed there.
FUTURE OF MANOR WOOD: Medomsley village have planned to take litter out of the wood and keep it clean. The rotting trees will be cut down every year and in it's place seeds for new trees will be planted every time an old one is cut down.
