Religious & Moral Education Policy

6.   Assessment

At present we are not required to report a level of attainment A-E for pupils' progress in R.M.E.   However, this does not mean that we do not assess progress at all.

What should be assessed?

· Knowledge and understanding of the topic

· Progress in the skills of investigating and evaluating

· Attitudes of enquiry and respect for others

Each topic plan shows one of the activities as being suitable to use to assess the pupils' knowledge and understanding of what they have been taught.

The assessment of attitudes must be dealt with very sensitively in association with assessment of pupils personal and social development.   All comments should be framed positively.
