Self-Worth:

Pupils feelings of self worth in the classroom can be promoted through quality of programmes offered.   Pupils' confidence depends on their being able to relate new knowledge to what they know already.  Continuity and Progression ensure that learning builds on prior knowledge. Pupils being told what it is they are learning and what they should be able to do by the end of the lesson(s) makes the lesson more meaningful and makes the pupil feel more valued. Planning takes account of pupils' needs and potential. From this pupils should feel valued as their needs and potential are recognised. Pupils feel valued if their attainment and achievements are recognised - formally and informally.
