Self-Esteem:

We recognise that the most important cause of emotional and behavioural difficulties is limited self-esteem.

Self-esteem is the inner picture we have of ourselves, the value we give to our strengths and weaknesses.

Self-esteem is low if we think "I'm USELESS, UNPOPULAR,  etc."

Self-esteem is sound if we thing "I'm CAPABLE, POPULAR, VALUED, etc"

Self-esteem is determined by the important adults in our life

Self-esteem affects friendships and the chances of success in learning.

We know that every child needs PRAISE, SUCCESS, RECOGNITION, AFFECTION and DISCIPLINE.

A child with low self-esteem can easily resort to negative attention seeking behaviour. We will try to ensure a child is not trapped in a negative relationship.
